Thank you. Excellent piece. Now broadcast it far and wide. Way too many Canadians out there swallowing the Modi line, and Poilievre is playing footsy. This is dangerous.

It's about time we heard this story in full and with the lies omitted! I have been waiting for this for ages it seems. PP is using this to cover up his treachery. No more slogans from the cons.

I really appreciated this clear, concise explanation of this serious issue. I wish more people would read it and understand that Poilievre is using dangerous rhetoric to minimize the interference by Modi's Government . Canadians need to hear the facts not slogans.

Excellent! Good to see knowledgeable reporting on this issue rather than ‘alt- journalism’ speculation with an anti PMJT bias.

India is not a Democracy. It’s a quasi-communist state which borrowed it’s constitutional core from Soviet Union. People may need to read their constitution and biography of their first Prime Minister Nehru to understand what that country really is, plagued by discrimination,caste system, human rights violations, women inequality etc.

Excellent piece. When govts do this to other countries they need to be exposed and their feet held metaphoricalky to the fire. As of now, both CSIS and tge RCMP should be rounding up people. Yea, I'm going to sound like the grumpy old a-hole I am and say, that as soon as India came out in support of putin there shouldve been sanctions applied to them as well

Excellent article. One addition item, which people seemed to have missed or ignored. The RCMP press release contained some extra information that should concern the current occupant of Stornoway. This is what the RCMP stated (and each word will have been carefully chosen):

Through our national taskforce and other investigative efforts, the RCMP has obtained evidence that demonstrates four very serious issues:

1) Violent extremism impacting both countries;

2) Links tying agents of the Government of India (GOI) to homicides and violent acts;

3) The use of organized crime to create a perception of an unsafe environment targeting the South Asian Community in Canada; and

4) Interference into democratic processes.

Item 4) is interesting. The RCMP does not investigate unhelpful or immoral behaviour. They investigate crimes. And apparently there is info to say that they are investigating crimes in relation to interference in the democratic process. Combined with the info in the redacted NSCIOP report that India interfered in the CPC leadership race, this raises the stakes.

And I believe it is directly related to Poilievre not wanting to see the contents of the unredacted report.
