It would take a really catastrophic result - less than 12 seats and a massive plunge in donations - to cause the NDP to take a hard look at itself. As long as it stays where it is now (15-20% of the vote, 20-30 seats, generating enough money to pay the bills) nothing will change.
ten, I don’t love Singh and his perspective but you ARE being unfair to Singh and the level of vitriol IS excessive. I don’t even read your column when you start in on Singh. It’s basically just a rant, not sure what the purpose is. Maybe if I was a first-time reader I would find your perspective on Jagmet interesting… yeah, let’s go with that, you return to the punching-bag for the newbs.
Wouldn’t it be ironic? The NDP alive and well at provincial level, but decimated at federal level. The Liberals struggling provincially anywhere outside Atlantic Canada, but now competitive federally.
Regarding putting Trump on notice, I always have to smile when Singh says: “when I am prime minister …”. Maybe he actually believes it himself.
Agreed that Jagmeet is not even a murmur in a crowd. The vacuum created when Trudeau placed a hold on his public response has allowed quite a few voices to shame themselves, Freeland included.
The business community, unions, premiers and the executive branch will decide how to respond to the latest round of tariffs. Hard decisions require time and Canada will know that those decisions will be made by those most affected.
Please address why the NDP are doing so well in Alberta both provincially and federally, compared to the Liberals? I note tremendous support from the younger politically active crowd.
Um I'm not sure what planet your on But the Federal NDP runs Candidates in Every Province & Territory and the next Federal Election they are planning on having a Candidate in every riding. Also not sure what country you're in but in Canada all Federal Party leaders only run in 1 riding in one province because we don't elect the Prime Minister in our Westminster style of Democracy, we elect individual MPs and the Party that gets the Most MPs Elected gets Control of House and then their Party leader would be Prime Minister but only if he/she also gets elected as an MP in the riding they ran in. So you're rant os ridiculous 🙄
Been a member and supporter of the NDP forever, but have closed that door now due to Jagmeet’s complete abandonment of focus and ideals.
Following him on Twitter was a nightmare. I couldn’t tell if his posts were written by Pierre Poilievre or Jagmeet.
His idiotic tearing up of the accord with the Liberals on Poilievre’s say-so was appalling.
Thank God for Charlie Angus federally, and my premier, Wab Kinew, provincially. They are keeping the conscience of the NDP going.
I think Mr Singh is jealous of the publicity that Charle Angus has received in the US.

You might want to check your headline for the missing word! Out of curiosity, if a replacement for Singh were to be sought, who would you suggest?
Singh completely lost me with that ridiculous TikTok post of him sitting in a shower with his clothes on.
But 💯. The NDP used to be the Ideas party. Alas, no more!

Not Singh, not Freeland.
I'm sad Jenny Kwan is going to lose her seat partly because of Jagmeet

I live in Jagmeet's riding. It's doubtful he'll even be re-elected here.
