Singh is a lightweight. The party committed collective suicide when they jettisoned Mulcair - aside from his intellectual prowess, he was the only leader they ever had who was fluent in French. No party has ever held power in Canada without support in Quebec. Moving to the centre in the 2015 election and allowing Trudeau to campaign on the left was certainly a strategic error of monumental proportions - but the party doesn't seem to have learned anything from it. Singh is just as much a centrist as Mulcair - or Layton for that matter.
I totally agree and told that to a federal NDP today get rid of Singh and Hogan they are too conservative trolling to be NDP. I don’t get what’s wrong with the main heads of the federal NDP. Last election Singh pissed a lot of us off. He turned arrogant and talked against the liberals (democracy) then these fascist conservatives, I still wonder who paid that federal debt off? But I really lost it when he made those TikTok shower videos. I don't know why the party keeps him when they could be courting someone like a David Eby or John Horgan - not saying those people in particular, but people who are serious and who take the role seriously. Jagmeet Singh is an upper crust corporate lawyer who wears custom tailored suits and a Rolex. I don't know who finds him appealing...the TikTok teenagers?

I lost respect for the NDP thanks to Andrea Horwath and Thomas Mulcair who were attempting to form governments instead of standing for the progressive policies we needed in Ontario and Canada. I have only heard the attacks on Liberals from bot of them. Told me a whole lot. Having close ties with Green members has opened my eyes to their own sufficient faults…when stepson running in several elections we observed that the only ones putting our money out for support was us! ( I had opened the bank account for the candidate).

In 1985 my family and I moved to Melbourne, Ontario, a tiny farming community just outside of London, Ontario. That was the week of The Air India bombing. A 12 year old girl from Melbourne was on that flight to India to visit her grandparents. Thankfully her 9 year old siste had remained home with her parents who were employed as farm managers. The hamlet was devastated as the child had been an active member of the community taking dance lessons, attending the tiny school, involved in village activities. Mr. Singh, due to his family ties with Sikh separatists in India and Canada, actively campaigned amongst Canadian Sikhs to win his leadership role. Terrorists in Canada trying to promote a political outcome in another country. Not for me. mr. Singh is persona non grata in India as a result of his support of the Sikh separatists. Apparently such support of terrorists does have huge repercussions for born in Canada Canadians..can’t ask that little girl or her parents as they are dead. The information about the sister was on the internet for a short time after Mr. Singh was elected but I have since been unable to locate it. Whitewashing or whatever the new correct term is?
Mr. Singh continually tells us about his childhood of poverty, sexual and emotional abuse, having to work by tesching swimming lessons in his backyard pool!! He spent 7 years at one of the most expensive private day schools in Michigan while they lived in Windsor ( a place I lived in for 5 years in the 70s). Grades 6 to 12. Does that really sound like they were a poor family? Many of us have had parents who were drinking too much. Ask many of the families in outer Ontario..backwoods of Ontario…or young girls who have been the targets of male inappropriate behaviours and remarks and physical, unacceptable touching….come on!
Get those NDP dreamers out of the cities and into the great whit north of Ontario. See how the country people live. Jagmeet did not learn much at the Beverly Hills Country Day School from which he graduated.
I have lived in Peterbrough County for 40 years. The last 4 years the city had an NDP ??? Mayor Diane Therrien who acted like a despot, a tyrant, an undemocratic leader. Guess what jerks we have representing us now as MPP and MP? The #*$)&) you “lady” single mom of 6 (not), scholarship grad from Trent(not) ( check out what former teacher and professor say about her stories.) and the guy David Smith who has disappeared for years.no candidate meetings. ( has had to take his wife out to dinner). Peterborough…5th highest property taxes in Ontario…lots of hockey arenas though for the sporty boys who never grew up. Money for rugby club, baseball, football fields with state of the art turf and lights… all for the little boys…con money. I have lived in many places during my 73 years but Peterborough takes the cake. Women who never learned to drive, who are at the mercy of hockey arenas, every village has one and they are used mainly by hockey groups…figure skaters have always taken a back seat to the boys of winter. Missing school for tournaments, not finishing school. 9 year olds with concussions, broken arms from hockey. let’s update the Mem Centre for 6 million dollars only it turned out to be over 15$ million. Not sure if that is even paid off yet but we’re building a new one for $62 million…soon to grow to what. Should we have a pool ( double meaning) to guess how much over it will be?
Politics has become disgusting for all parties but then again it is not just politicians who are lying about everything…it seems to be everybody everywhere…Bell Canada is a buggy, as is every big company, bank, religion. truth exists no where now.
Green Party… no different . In our world it seems that to be green you need to be rich. Electric cars and solar etc do not work for everybody.. get the politicians out of the gd cities and into the outback. We have had all kinds of Toronto people selling their bungalows for millions then buying up our small houses, renovating them to high style city standards and pushing up our property taxes.
I know this is convoluted but the grads I see coming out of university are so unknowing about other laces in Canada and to see the huge abyss between Canadians is astounding. Guys who cheat on their exams, papers, hire others to take exams, no doctors for large numbers of citizens in backwoods Ontario and Canada apparently. Who is responsible for that? Rae days in 90s when med schools didn’t expand because OMA and CMA didn’t want more competition, or Harris days…secret deals with doctors? Still no expansion under McGinty ( never ever voted for his brand of Liberalism). Are the medical associations still fighting amongst themselves? Ontario government is responsible for all this garbage about med care but we don’t have enough grads who know or care to know who is responsible for what. Check out the dummy Michelle Ferreri ( the feruhfouurh you lady) who knows nothing yet graduated from Trent U. Check out our other ( f8(/8$2)&(/ lady Therrien) who also graduated from Trent. Civility, citizenship, respect. I have dropped giving respect to anyone who walks down the street here because they give no respect to any one. We were told if a safe injection site was opened up we wouldn’t see the needles in the streets, parks, beaches of Little Lake!… a few weeks after the site was opened the news was that most deaths were from inhaled drugs not the injected drugs and their needs still event being met. We need a place where they can smoke up and inhale safely. I see too many working people here who can’t afford daily living although they WORK..why should I be supporting those who choose not to. I’m not sure I will ever vote again for these stooges. They and the Toronto Star under their new hedge fund owner…silly boy, Jordan Bitove who wants to get invited into the best homes in Toronto as a pretend philanthropist, are driving people away from being civil to each other. It’s all I can do to be civil to a few of my husbands family who profess to be green but have no idea what that means! Does that mean disposable diapers into the landfill, SUV ownership, cottages in the Highlands, and so on I could go on but I’ll bet you stopped reading.
