Charlie Angus slandered Margaret Trudeau, the WE organization and it was all bogus. Should WE wins its lawsuit against the Fifth Estate/CBC in the USA, he will be in the spotlight for being the loathsome power seeker he is. He needs to retire and hopefully an Indigenous/Francophone or young person from that region will be inspired to run for that seat.

Yeah and his KID was in WE. HIS. KID.

Angus is a CPC member in an Orange shirt. I would never vote for him. He's not socially progressive at all, does he even want to tax wealthy people? DOes he care about climate change?

Angus needs to get out and let an Indigenous person take his seat. And when he does, he can shill for Polieivre. Angus fails the idelological purity test for NDP, Singh does not.

Also, the NDP will never get a minority or majority in this country at the federal level so your choice is: 24-30 seats or MAYBE official oppo IF the CPC get a majority. And as for LGBTQIA+ issues, does Angus even go to Pride? I know Jagmeet does...

That seat should be held by a Cree MP.

I’m with anything that makes PPs path more difficult. I had to look up the word malapportionment.

It would not be the first time the NDP lost seats because they supported the federal Liberals. Then the next election they built back up again, until they had Jack Layton and the party was the official opposition.

Singh is fine. You may be of the opinion Angus could hold on to the current seats and/or improve, but I'm not so sure. this changing leaders in parties every time they don't "deliver" doesn't do much for the party. 'The NDP ought to have just continued with Mulcair. The Conservatives broomed their former leader and went with PP. That wasn't their smartest move. Erin O'Toole had a better chance of winning at a future date than their current leader, PP.

as usual.. lots to ‘mull’ in this post.. I like it.. blunt & hard hitting.. and as always.. lots of ‘macro level’ analysis..

In my life I have met people I did not like.. but that I respected for ‘getting the job done’.. even the most gritty of jobs

Given the direction of the CPC. It may be generations before they try to return to their roots. Canada needs help now and I don’t think Jagmeet is going anywhere soon. I’m hoping that the NDP problems (leader and financial) might result in an amalgamation of the Liberals and the NDP. Jagmeet could become the Deputy PM, some MP’s join some of the ministerial offices. This shuts the Right Wing danger down for a long enough period of time for the con tank and file to demand a return to Progressive Conservative values.

It’s wild to me that the two NDP-held federal ridings in Edmonton could be safer for the NDP than the west coast ridings.

If you saw the number of Albertans who moved to Nanaimo, B.C. you would not be surprised at all. When the previous NDP, MP decided to run for the provincial seat, they held a bi election. The Greern Party won the seat and the No. 2 in the rankings was yes, the CONSERVATIVE PARTY OF CANADA. Nanaimo is one of the 5 fasted growing cities in Canada. As people move in they bring their polticis with them.

You almost gave me a heart attack seeing the headline!😶But reading through your opinion yes, Charley Angus does appear to be the best option for the party if only because he's a good attack dog capable of stirring the base.
