What Ford seems to have done as far as I can see, is remove money from the system as it is, and is proposing to use that money to pay clinics run by private operations which may, or may not, be conservative party donors. I suspect many of them are donors, because that is how he rolls.
The public system is still underfunded, and the private system is not going to be dealing with the expensive stuff, cancer, heart surgery, stroke victims, transplants.
Until and unless he talks about funding the public system property, this is about to be a disaster
Something that is often forgotten is there have long been private providers of healthcare that receive public funding such as the Shouldice Clinic. It has been longstanding policy at the provincial level not to allow "new" instances of institutions like Shouldice but Shouldice is perfectly compatible with the Canada Health Act.
when referring to Trudeau's original "elect me" pitch, please don't forget the promise to fix our anti-democratic governance FPTP elections. Promise fucking broken, as you might put it. And possibly responsible in great part for our inability to address problems in the health care "system"?

Your position that the left thinks higher wages is the solution to all the ills is a strawman and I don’t know anyone who actually thinks this. Anyone with a brain knows the problems are long-standing and have been exacerbated by Covid and politics. The issue for me is that Doug’s solutions are as simplistic as your complaints. We all know the fix is complex and Doug is not up to the task.
