There is a real risk that the ONDP ends up losing official party status on E-Night because they get squeezed mostly by the PCs and, to a lesser extent, the Liberals. An efficient vote won’t save a political party especially if in some cases they are polling as low as 14 percent province wide. Anyway it would be insane if both the liberals and ONDP lost official party status but I don’t think that will happen at this point. I think the liberals will end up in second and the ONDP in third but it might be close.
I'll vouch for this too - I met Marit and she was wonderful. She didn't seem to like me calling her victory a "coronation", but I got the impression she knew the uncontested race wasn't a good thing.
Ridiculous - I have met and spent time with her on more occasions than I can count. Do some research - check out web sites, go to rallies, check social media...
To have such a discussion implies the current strategy (putting such a discussion off) isn't working, and that's why it hasn't happened. How can one learn from their mistakes if they think they're doing nothing wrong in the first place?
It's not just that Marit Stiles was acclaimed as Leader without competition. Part of the problem is that the provincial NDP has had no gathering since the convention that acclaimed her as leader. A party is doomed to run an out-of-touch campaign when its members have not been able to meet together to even talk, let alone have formal policy debates to help flesh out an agenda that can serve as a blueprint for the Leader.

Blue and Blue Light are being challenged by Orange regardless of what manipulated polls say.
She’s a very nice woman. But she lacks passion and I have no idea what the NDP really stand for. I doubt half the province can even identify her.

Again ridiculous in these times.
Almost the same thing happened here in BC, with David Eby being coronation after his only challenger was suspiciously denied entry.
Eby nearly lost the 2024 election to an upstart Conservative Party that had only 1 MLA 18 months prior.
again ridiculous
