"Conservatism’s real ill in Canada is that it’s so fucking stupid. And until they fix that, they’re done for."
My deep concern is that the stupidity *is* the selling point. By 2025, lots of folks will be tired of the Liberals - so tired that the Conservatives could be elected by default. Then what? The stupidity won't have gone away - indeed, it was the point when Poilievre gets elected leader.
I hope we don't have to endure four years of regressive idiocy simply because people are sick of Trudeau and have spent the last two years avoiding actual, depressing news and filling the void with feel-good denialism and The Rebel. Skippy's push could not be better timed.
As far as I'm concerned, he'll never live down the infamous profile of "The Resistance". Or the recent outburst where he proclaimed Joel Lightbound going off-script on how his own Liberal party handled vaccine mandates to be a "crisis of Philpott-level proportions." That sure aged like milk, just like his hagiography of the two "Spite and Malice" weird sisters themselves, and I bet it's still the case that nobody outside Lightbound's riding could identify him in a lineup.
About the only thing I'll give him credit for is his eponymous list of rules, the first of which is that Ottawa-bubble columnists are mostly full of it. Which, incidentally enough, applies to Wells too.

It's so unhinged as to appear to have abandoned legitimacy. The Conservative has self destructed.
LOL - Does he love you back? Seriously, I can't think of a single reason to even LIKE Paul Wells.
