Interesting analysis but for living in Ottawa it isn’t surprising that conservatives have lost their seat. They have been ignoring and fucking over Ottawa since they have been elected. The only reason why that Furlleton was re-elected is that she was sitting in cabinet.
For what it is worth, I noticed a big difference in the social media game for Kanata-Carleton race. I am not quite in this riding, but I did get the various Liberal tweet or Facebook post. Nothing, nada, zip from the Conservatives or the NDP. Had it not been for the Liberal social media posts I had not known that there was a by election next door.
The current MPP in Carleton would for sure be defeated in a by-election. In a general election I am not so sure. It will depend if Ford will pay attention to the Eastern Ontario or not. Right now he cannot find this on even Google Maps.
Federally, there have have been shattered dreams of defeating Poilievre for many years in Carleton. I afraid it will take a lot more growth in the urban parts to get there.

Somebody needs to explainaway that Poilievre remains invisible there ..
That the ‘War Room’ has a strategy ? Of course.. but how odd they’ve allowed the ‘Divorce’ or ‘Separation’ to turn so ‘sour’.. what next eh ? Divorce Papers go ‘Public’ ?
Well Carleton is my riding which makes Poilievre my MP. Unfortunately.
The last two elections were not even close. Poilievre won comfortably, despite behaving like an absolute a$$hole (texting during local candidate debate, for example). Chris Rodgers got close in 2015, but since then the gap has only become bigger. I don’t think local presence in the riding is a factor when you are the leader of the party.
I do not understand the reference to divorce or separation. What does that refer to?

One thing I haven't seen noted in commentary about these byelections is that the advance polls in both were much better for the Liberals (and the PCs) than the day-of vote. In Scarborough, the advance vote is almost exactly the same split as the result from the last general election, while the PCs fell to third on election day itself.
Always hard to judge given the weirdnesses of low turnout, but one interpretation of that might be that the Liberals are less persuasive to the persuadable than the ONDP.
