I don't understand this fascination with Christy Clark. She will not bring in any extra seats in BC, in fact she may lose them some!

Her reputation proceeds her there. If he picks her I'm going to start questioning his political judgment. Her past baggage (money laundering) will drag him and the party down..

Do you think the dearth of western ministers signals Carney will run in Alberta?

Looks like Guilbeault will stay in cabinet, but in a different role. That’s unfortunate in my opinion.

Interresting picks but I think you are missing something. I believe there will be at least one or two non-elected members in the Cabinet. With elections that are expected to called few days after the government will be sworn in, he can afford appointing non-MPs in the cabinet that will be running for MP a couple days/weeks after. My bet are on Carlos Lateo and Chirsty Clark...

I could see a cabinet appointment for a star candidate who is about to run. I have no idea why Clark would be on that list. She’s not a Liberal, barely a liberal, and no one could have missed the mass revulsion reaction to her leadership bid and the cowardly retreat it forced on her. She’s also not a noted expert or star figure in any field. No one is saying “sure she’s politically sketchy but her massive experience as a respected international trade expert makes up for that”

She’s a dud, and it’s baffling that this speculation has had any legs at all

I know many of you have valid reasons for not liking Clark, but I think Carney will try to bring in one or two right-leaning figures to appeal to the Blue Liberal base and to show he is able to work with people across the political spectrum, unlike PP. However, it is only my two-cent and I am maybe totally wrong.

It’s not just that I don’t like Clark, no one likes Clark. She has no base, including no center-right one. In the latest BC provincial election I’m pretty sure everyone involved was actively dodging her endorsement. You’ll lose two votes for every vote she brings in. It’s like suggesting Carney could get a bump by appointment Mike Harris to cabinet

I am trying to think of anyone who might qualify.... maybe Peter McKay, the last of the PCs? He is still well thought of in Atlantic Canada I think and might help if he was interested. It would be a bit of revenge for him to come back and Haunt the Harper sock puppet that is Pierre Poilievre.

You know how with some people, when you first get introduced to them you think there is something there, and every time after that you meet them you are more impressed? Yeah, Clark is the opposite of that. To get to know her (politically) is to loathe her. She would be an anchor that would weigh on every Liberal candidate in BC (and beyond).

I wish Christy Clark never dropped out so we could’ve seen her get 0%. That way, I’d never have to see her incompetent name brought up ever again.

A big fat NO for Crusty er Christy Clark! I know her husband is a wheel in fundraising circles but she is dead weight that will NOT help the Liberals in BC.
